Leading up to Thanksgiving, we learned about who the Pilgrims were and how they came to America. We also learned about the Native Americans and how they taught the Pilgrims how to survive in their new land. The students learned about the first Thanksgiving feast and how this tradition started. We decided to have our own Thanksgiving feast!
All Kindergarten students chose if they wanted to dress as a Pilgrim or a Native American for the feast. They got to dress up in costumes! All of the Kindergarten classes joined together for the feast in the hallway. Students brought in lots of different goodies to share with each other (just like the Pilgrims and Native Americans at the first Thanksgiving!).
We started our feast day with a birthday. Happy birthday, Reese!
Next, we made our own placemats for the feast. Students wrote their names on their placemats and decorated them. We were so excited to use them at our feast!
Here are lots of pictures from our Thanksgiving feast!
